Game Protector 1.0 is a program that lets you protect files with a password. By using it, you will force anyone that tries to access those files to input a password. Failing to do that will prevent anyone to open them. The name of this program could lead you to think that this process can only be done with games. The truth is that Game Protector can add a password to any executable file, being it part of a game or not. This way you will be able to protect your files from unauthorized access, even if they are not in your computer. To unprotect the file you need Game Protector installed on the computer where you will do this process. This program even lets you hide your executable files by changing their icons and file names, making them appear as, for example, a Word document or an Excel spreadsheet.
Game Protector lets you choose the file to protect by browsing your hard drives. Then, you must input the password you want to use, and confirm it. You can then change the icon that will identify that program, and specify a different name for it. Then, the program will rewrite the executable file, saving a backup copy with the .BAK extension, that you can use to restore the file in case that something goes wrong. |
- It´s very easy to use.
- The protected file will be slightly bigger than the original one.

- The program should warn you to delete the generated BAK file once you check everything´s OK, because renaming it as an EXE file will allow to run it, thus making the password protection useless.
